UAB Maksima implements EU-funded projects that contribute to more sustainable, efficient and modern manufacturing.
UAB “Maksima” plans to install an electricity storage system following the submission of an application under a joint project announced by the Lithuanian Energy Agency.
The joint project is implemented under the Economic Recovery and Resilience Plan “New Generation Lithuania”, funded by the European Union’s Recovery and Resilience Facility (NextGenerationEU).
Following the submission of an application under the joint project “Investment Support for Onshore Solar Power Plants”, announced by the Lithuanian Energy Agency, UAB “Maksima” plans to install a 99.9 kW onshore solar power plant.
The joint project is implemented under the Economic Recovery and Resilience Plan “New Generation Lithuania”, funded by the European Union’s Recovery and Resilience Facility (NextGenerationEU).
On 28 March 2019, UAB “Maksima” signed a financing and administration agreement for the project “Implementation and Development of Digital Manufacturing Technologies at UAB Maksima”, project No. 03.3.1-LVPA-K-854-01-0017, under Priority 3, “Promotion of Small and Medium-Sized Business Competitiveness”, of the European Union Funds Investment Operational Programme 2014–2020.
Project objective – to carry out a technological audit of the company and assess opportunities for the digitalisation of its manufacturing processes, followed by the implementation of advanced technologies to increase labour productivity.
During the project, the company conducted a technological audit of its manufacturing processes and implemented the recommendations identified. Modern digital manufacturing technologies, including advanced automation and robotics solutions, were introduced into the production of plastic packaging.
The digitalisation of manufacturing processes enabled the company to increase production capacity and improve operational efficiency. Previously, manufacturing processes involved a significant proportion of manual labour, which limited productivity and increased production costs. The introduction of automated equipment has reduced the need for manual operations, improved production consistency and enabled more efficient use of resources.
The project also contributed to improving product quality, expanding the product range and strengthening the company’s competitiveness in international markets.

UAB “Maksima” is implementing the project “Identification of Opportunities to Reduce Energy Consumption at UAB Maksima”, project No. 04.2.1-LVPA-K-804-03-0002.
The project is implemented under Priority 4, “Promoting Energy Efficiency and the Production and Use of Energy from Renewable Sources”, of the European Union Funds Investment Operational Programme 2014–2020, measure No. 04.2.1-LVPA-K-804 “Energy Audits in Industrial Enterprises”.
As part of the project, UAB “Maksima” is conducting an energy audit (EA).
Objectives of the audit:
- To promote energy efficiency and the production and use of energy from renewable sources.
- To identify energy consumption levels and energy consumption indicators.
- To identify opportunities to reduce energy consumption and replace conventional energy sources with renewable energy sources.
- To recommend organisational and technical measures for more efficient energy use and reduced energy costs.
- To reduce energy consumption intensity in industrial enterprises.

The “Europe 2020” strategy established the following climate and energy targets for 2020:
- To reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 15% compared with 2005 levels.
- To increase the share of renewable energy in final energy consumption to 23%.
- To achieve Lithuania’s total final energy savings target of 1.004 million tonnes of oil equivalent (Mtoe), or 11.677 TWh.
Under Lithuania’s National Energy Independence Strategy, the country aimed to increase energy efficiency by 1.5% annually by 2020, thereby strengthening its energy independence and competitiveness.
The strategy also aimed to save 150 kilotonnes of oil equivalent (ktoe) in the industrial sector by 2020, representing approximately 20% of the sector’s total energy consumption.
UAB “Maksima” is actively contributing to the achievement of these objectives.
